Introduction
In 2015/16, a new access and waiting time standard was introduced to ensure that more than 50% of people experiencing first episode psychosis commence a NICE concordant package of care within a maximum of two weeks of referral.
The South Region EIP Preparedness Programme is a real opportunity to push our mental health services forward, to grasp opportunities in a way that we have perhaps struggled to in the past, by reviewing first-hand the evidence for clinically and economically effective Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP)services, and implementing action plans to achieve improvements for those who access EIP services.
Our ability to develop services that we would be personally happy to access is reliant on our collective commitment to service improvement. We therefore welcome your views and input.
