We’re well on the way to achieving better access to mental health services by 2020. That was the clear message from the Oxford AHSN Early Intervention Clinical Network launch event.
All available places were taken for the event which took place in Harwell, Oxfordshire, 31 March. There were updates from across the Oxford AHSN region, as well as a specific focus on school-based services and personality disorders.
National mental health lead Dr Geraldine Strathdee, who was the keynote speaker, gave a ringing endorsement of early intervention work being led by the Oxford AHSN. Participants took part in an interactive ‘Dragon’s Den’-style session, voting on their views about new ideas and innovations.
Many of those taking part also completed pledge cards to take back to their workplaces and inspire their work in the months ahead.
